生い立ち、教育、学生時代の活動
帝国石油の技術者だった父親と、鹿児島市出身の母親のもと、当時の父の赴任先だった秋田県 で
第一子長女である姉に次ぐ第二子長男として生まれた。
祖父は宮大工。
小学2、3年生の時に東京・新宿へ移り、高清水小4年生から再び秋田へ。
中学進学後再び東京へ移った。
世田谷区立梅丘中学校出身。
「友達を多くつくるために、勉強よりも体を鍛えること」という父親の方針のもとで育ち、
子供の頃からスポーツ好きだった。
そのため陸上競技の記録を伸ばすことばかり夢中になり、成績は体育だけが跳び抜けて良く、
それ以外は平凡なものであった。
陸上では世田谷区大会で優勝したことがある。
中央大学附属高等学校では陸上部に所属。
高校生時代はm走で10秒9の記録を出したことも
