Riccardo
Riccardo Piatti is an Italian tennis coach. He has coached several players ranked within the top 10 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), including Novak Djokovic, Ivan Ljubičić, Richard Gasquet, Milos Raonic, and Jannik Sinner.
Coaching career
Piatti began as a private coach for professional players in Among the early players he coached are Renzo Furlan (career-high world No. 19), Cristiano Caratti (career-high world No. 26), and Omar Camporese (career-high world No. 18).
He began working with Ivan Ljubičić in June , when Ljubičić was ranked No. in the world. This relationship lasted until the end of Ljubičić's professional playing career in Ljubičić achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 3 while working with Piatti.
From fall until June , he also coached Novak Djokovic when the Serb was Djokovic parted ways due to Piatti's refusal to work full-time with him. In , Piatti claimed that he knew then (in ) that Djokovic "could become number one in the world at the level of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer

Carrière
Piatti a commencé à jouer au tennis à l'âge de neuf ans au club de tennis Villa d'Este à Cernobbio . [2] . Revered coach Riccardo Piatti has highlighted three ways Novak Djokovic immediately impressed him when he worked with the tennis icon early in his career.
The Italian pointed to Djokovics technique, mentality and maturity as the qualities that struck him most, while he also stressed the importance of the Serb, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to tennis.
Piatti coached a young Djokovic from late when he was 18 until June , and later declared he knew the Serbian could reach the very top when working with him.
“When we worked together I thought he could become No 1 in the world at the level of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer because Novak always worked hard as a kid, with the family, and he was very focused and determined to be world No 1,” he told Reuters during Djokovics incredible season.

Top players from all over the world have signed up for the Indian Wells Open, the main draw of which starts on March 5. Jannik Sinner, however, didnt travel to the United States as he is prohibited from ATP-sanctioned events due to the doping ban.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) reached a settlement agreement with Sinner and handed him a three-month ban which will be lifted on May 4. Novak Djokovic was one of the many critics of WADAs verdicts.
He doesnt hold Sinner responsible for doping, believing in his explanation that clostebol contaminated him without his knowledge. Djokovic, however, wants an overhaul in anti-doping rules as players before Sinner with similar doping cases had been handed a lengthy ban.
Djokovics longtime rival Roger Federers former coach, Severin Luthi, gave his stance on Sinners case, lauding the Italian for the way he handled the scandal. The World No.1 took home two Grand Slam titles and his first ATP Finals trophy since it came to light that he failed drug test.
