Μπορεί η συνεργασία τους να ξεκίνησε με το τραγούδι “Better Love”, που εκπροσώπησε την Ελλάδα στον περσινό διαγωνισμό τραγουδιού της Eurovision, η Katerine Duska και ο Leon of Athens (κατά κόσμον Τίμος Βερέμης), όμως, γνωρίζονται πολλά χρόνια πριν. Όλα ξεκίνησαν το , όταν βρέθηκαν να παρακολουθούν την ίδια συναυλία. Εξαρχής οι χημείες τους έδειξαν να συμπλέουν. «Τον Τίμο τον άκουγα και τον θαύμαζα καλλιτεχνικά, όταν ήμουν ακόμα φοιτήτρια στη Νομική. Ήταν μια περίεργη περίοδος της ζωής μου, βρισκόμουν σε μια σχολή που μισούσα και παράλληλα δούλευα σε διάφορες άσχετες δουλειές για να μπορώ να πληρώνω τα μαθήματα μουσικής μου. Τα κομμάτια του μου έδιναν πραγματικά δύναμη, μου έφτιαχναν τη μέρα. Αισθανόμουν παράλληλα ότι έχουμε κοινές αναφορές, κοινά μουσικά βιώματα», μου λέει η Katerine.
Τους συναντώ στη γειτονιά τους, το Παγκράτι, το οποίο αγαπούν πολύ. Και οι δύο είναι «παιδιά του κέντρου», με μια coolness διάθεση, που αποπνέει έναν κοσμοπολίτικο αέρα. Katerine Duska is een Grieks-Canadese singer-songwriter die opgegroeid is in Montreal. Als tiener verhuisde ze met haar Griekse ouders naar hoofdstad Athene. Sommigen vergelijken de muziekstijl van Katerine met die van Lykke Li en Jessie Ware, terwijl haar stemkleur soms doet denken aan Amy Winehouse. Haar Songfestivallied heeft ze zelf meegeschreven en gecomponeerd in Londen.
Duska werd ontdekt via YouTube. Haar cover van Do I Wanna Knowvan Arctic Monkeys bereikte online een miljoenenpubliek. De eerste single kwam er in Ze heeft sindsdien mogen samenwerken met andere artiesten en stond in het voorprogramma van anderen. In kwam haar goed ontvangen debuutplaat uit. Twee jaar later gebruikte Nescafé Canada haar lied Fire Away in hun nationale reclamespot.
Selectieprocedure
De bekendmaking van Katerine als kandidate was alles behalve een verrassing. Wekenlang werd zij genoemd als dé kandidate voor Tel Aviv. Op Valentijnsdag kwam het bevestigende persbericht. De onthulling van de naam werd een paar keer uitgesteld, vermoedelijk om het financiële plaatje rond te krijgen. Omroep ERT draait dit jaar op voor een heel groot deel van de kosten

Katerina Duska is a Greek-Canadian singer and songwriter.
She was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and lives in Pagrati, Athens. She studied law, but didn&#;t finish the studies.
In , Katerina Duska released her debut single &#;One in a Million&#;, followed by &#;Won&#;t leave&#; in Both songs can be found on her first album entitled &#;Embodiment&#; in . In December , she appeared in a concert with musician Petros Klabanis. The song &#;Fire away&#; was selected by Nescafe Canada to be used in its advertising campaign.
Katerina Duska has collaborated with many international artists such as LP, Albin Lee Meldau, Tom Baxter, Yasmine Hamdan, Oddisee and Kadebostany. She has performed on major stages and festivals in Greece and Europe such as The O2 Academy London, Rockwave Festival, and the Sofarsound&#;s / Amnesty International&#;s &#;Give a home&#; international festival. She has participated in the festivals of the Cultural Center &#; Stavros Niarchos Foundation and in concerts at the Athens Concert Hall.
